GRAHAMS JEWELRY SPOT FAQS

Does Graham’s Jewelry Spot offer sizing as a service?

Yes, most but not all rings can be sized. Limitations apply. Charges for sizing will be priced at lower than market rates, and certain markets significantly lower. You can contact us at our contact page if sizing is needed. We would advise you to have us to do the sizing as we have standards that we adhere to.

Does Graham’s Jewelry Spot offer Diamond grading reports?

Yes. Fees at cost, are client’s responsibility in advance.

How do I size my fingers for rings?

jewelry authentication

Unless otherwise stipulated all gemstones are graded insofar as mounting permits observation. This is the generally accepted practice within the Jewelry Trade when mounted stones are presented for evaluation. Approximate weights will generally be calculated with the use of an A.D. Leveridge gauge, and volumetric formula, or equivalent method. Color of larger and unmounted diamonds will be determined with the use of one of our Master Color comparison

diamond grading sets. Quality ranges expressed will be assessed by our Experts with the use of a 10-power loupe, that is corrected for chromatic distortion and spherical aberration/aplanatic. Gemological Institute of America “GIA” grading scale will be used to describe findings where appropriate. When gemstones are in their settings, full observation is not possible, therefore all weights, and quality must be understood as approximate unless accompanied by a grading report from an independent grading laboratory such as GIA, EGL, GCAL AGL.

Dating of an Estate, Vintage, or Antique item is based on observation of manufacturing technique, and any other relevant considerations. Due to the infinite number of possibilities this makes the process less than an exact science. Experience is sometimes what is needed, when other data is not available, or knowable by classic methods.

Repairs

We are presently limiting Jewelry repairs to Jewelry sold by us.

Jewelry offered by GJS has been inspected carefully, and approved before being listed for sale.

Where repairs are required, they may include Sizing, replacing or repairing clasps, re-tipping prongs or tightening stones, and re-finishing or polishing. We know that inadvertent bumps and bruises can cause damage to Jewelry. We will cheerfully examine the situation and give you an estimate of charges, and how long it will take if it requires extra time.

Requests for repairs should be accompanied with an image of the item and desired repair description. We may, however, need to have the item sent to us for an accurate estimate. A 50% deposit is required to commence work which in most cases will take less than a week to complete. Shipping costs are the client’s responsibility.

Vintage, Antique, and Estate Jewelry has had a life before yours, and must be sold “as is”. Be aware of this, and go easy when wearing them, so that you can continue to enjoy them for many years to come.
